Wanaque School District’s Mission Statement

The Wanaque Public School District, a unified community in partnership with students in grades PreK-8, parents, and staff, engages all students by providing an enriched academic and social foundation that fosters a love of learning, where all students achieve the New Jersey Common Core Standards at all grade levels, thereby creating informed citizens ready to meet the varying challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Recognizing and providing positive learning experiences necessary to foster the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of the individual child will accomplish this mission.

Calling All 2016-2017 Pre-School Students!

The Wanaque Public School District is accepting pre-schoolers for our two Integrated Pre-School classes for September 2016. One program will be housed at Haskell School and the other at Wanaque School. The morning session (9:00 - 11:30 a.m.) will be comprised of primarily three-year old youngsters and the afternoon session (12:30 – 3:00 p.m.) will address four-year olds.

The tuition-based program anticipates having limited openings for the 2016-2017 school year. A “lottery system” will be implemented if the interest is greater than the number of open seats available.

A modest tuition of $2,000 will be charged, with a $200 deposit due upon application. To be eligible, a general education student must be three (3) years of age on or before October 1, 2016 and must be toilet trained. When applying for the program, please include a copy of the following information:

  • birth certificate
  • copy of immunizations
  • proof of residency (please refer to registration form on the district website)
  • $200 deposit

If, by chance, your child is not accepted into the program as a result of the lottery process, your deposit of $200 will be refunded.

Applications will be accepted through Monday, February 29th and are available in the main office in both school buildings.
